Job Description Job Description Company: Layton Services Location: Project Sites – Local/Regional (Home Base TBD) Job Title: Foreman Civil Construction Compensation: - $38–$50 per hour (Non-Exempt, Hourly) - Pay rate negotiable based on experience - Weekly pay via direct deposit - Overtime and prevailing wage opportunities - Damage-Free Performance Bonus Employment Type: Full-Time | Benefit Eligible Reports To: Superintendent / Director of Operations Position Summary: The Foreman at Layton Services is responsible for leading and supervising on-site construction operations to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and in compliance with company standards and project specifications. This role requires strong leadership, organization, and hands-on coordination of daily field activities while serving as the primary link between field crews and management. Key Duties & Responsibilities: Crew Leadership & Project Execution - Organize, direct, and supervise field crews on active job sites - Assign daily tasks and monitor work quality and productivity - Provide hands-on guidance, training, and mentorship to crew members - Conduct daily briefings to review progress, expectations, and upcoming work - Troubleshoot field issues and collaborate with management to resolve challenges Communication & Coordination - Serve as the primary point of contact between the field and the Superintendent/Director of Operations - Coordinate material deliveries and track inventory to prevent shortages - Request additional labor, equipment, or materials as needed to meet project goals Documentation & Reporting - Maintain accurate records of labor hours, materials used, and job progress - Complete daily reporting using construction software and documentation tools Equipment & Materials - Ensure proper use, maintenance, and storage of tools and equipment - Monitor equipment condition and report repair or replacement needs Safety & Compliance - Enforce Layton Services’ safety policies and OSHA regulations - Conduct regular safety meetings and job hazard discussions - Report and document accidents, injuries, or safety violations promptly - Ensure work is completed in accordance with company policies, project plans, and industry standards Additional Responsibilities: - Perform all other duties as required to support successful project completion Qualifications & Skills: Required: - Proven experience as a Foreman or Supervisor in excavation, site work, or related construction fields - Strong understanding of construction methods and on-site management practices - Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications - Experience with GPS and laser-guided layout systems - Familiarity with construction software for daily reporting and documentation - Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills - Working knowledge of OSHA safety standards and best practices - OSHA 30-Hour Certification - OSHA Trenching & Excavating Certification Required Competencies: - Oral, written, and reading comprehension - Clear verbal and written communication - Active listening and social awareness - Ability to interpret and convey technical information - Near-vision accuracy for close-range detail work - High level of professionalism and confidentiality in handling company and client information Benefits: - Competitive hourly pay - Weekly direct deposit - Overtime and prevailing wage opportunities - Damage-Free Performance Bonus - Paid Time Off (PTO) - Paid Holidays - Truck allowance or company-provided truck - Cell phone allowance or company-provided phone - 401(k) with Layton Services matching - Medical, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance - Birthday Boots - Uniform Program Alternate Job Titles: - Construction Foreman - Site Foreman - Field Foreman - Crew Foreman - Lead Foreman - Excavation Foreman Keywords for SEO: Foreman, Construction Foreman, Site Supervisor, Field Supervisor, Excavation, Site Work, OSHA 30, Trenching & Excavation, GPS Layout, Laser Grading, Crew Leadership, Jobsite Safety, Construction Management, Heavy Civil, Utilities, Earthwork We are proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
