world. For the caregivers of Fairview Hospital’s Parkview I
Oncology and Women’s Health Unit, healing and empathy come
naturally. With a focus on oncology and women’s health and surgery,
this unit provides comprehensive care and caring services for
adults, 18 years of age and older, who have medical and surgical
diagnoses. A caregiver in this position works nights from 7:00PM
-7:30AM. A caregiver who excels in this role will: - Participate in
a residency core curriculum based on individual learning needs. -
Provide direct nursing care alongside a success coach. - Establish
and/or revise priorities for patient care (acuity of need, patient
preference and resource availability). - Respond to data indicating
risk to patients’ health and initiate action to correct, reduce or
prevent risk. - Seek supervision, consultation and assistance when
unable to perform safely and independently. - Document in patients’
medical records. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future
caregiver include: - Graduate from an accredited school of
professional nursing - Current state licensure as a Registered
Nurse (RN) - Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the
American Heart Association (AHA) - New graduate RN OR less than one
year of RN work experience - Cancer-specific certification or
demonstrated ongoing qualifying education - Completion of an ONS
Chemo/Bio Course within two years of hire Preferred qualifications

- Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting
patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination. -
Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time. -
Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. - Requires
working under stressful conditions and irregular hours. - Exposure
to communicable diseases and/or body fluids. - Medium Work -
Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25
pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10
pounds of force constantly to move objects. - Physical Demand
requirements are in excess of those for Light Work. Personal
Protective Equipment: - Follows Standard Precautions using personal
