Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Certified Surgical Technologist Discipline: Allied Health Professional Start Date: 07/28/2025 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours Employment Type: Travel Posted By- T4H-643 Shift Information: Days State License Details: Must Be Currently Active Holiday Coverage Required: Yes EMR Used: Cerner Minimum Years of Experience: 3 Mon-Friday 36-40 hours a week, call is typically 2-3 times a week, weekend call can be every 2nd or 3rd weekend. Job Summary A surgery technician provides assistance in the operating room. These individuals work under the supervision of surgeons, anesthesiologist and nurses. They care for patients during the surgical /procedure. Surgery technicians can work in ambulatory (River View, Pavilion) or the hospital setting (Main OR). The surgery technician plans, implements, evaluates patient care along with other team members. They accept responsibility for collaboration with co-workers in the implementation of care. This position is responsible for providing optimum levels of care as the patient’s transition through their stay. All the duties and standards within this job description will be performed according to the established policies and guidelines outlined in the department and Center policy and procedure manuals. These will be measured through surveys, department goals, peer input, expectation and experience. Job Qualifications Education: High school graduate or equivalent. Graduate of a surgical technician accredited program required. Attends in-services to maintain professional standards. Licensure & Certifications: CPR certification. Certification (CST) required. Experience: Previous OR experience preferred. Job-related Skills: Good basic clinical skills in delivering of care in an ambulatory and inpatient care facility. Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills; ability to problem-solve and facilitate resolution to issues; demonstrates ability to handle multiple priorities; ability to make independent decisions. Physical Capacity Demand Heavy Work: Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for Medium Work.
