Smartland, a fast-growing private equity real estate company managing 1,400 units across Northeast Ohio, is hiring a Maintenance Operations Coordinator to serve as the communication hub between residents, technicians, vendors, and property management. This is the perfect opportunity for someone with hands-on maintenance knowledge who wants to focus on coordination, scheduling, and operational efficiency. Schedule Monday–Friday, standard business hours In-office role (Eastlake, Ohio headquarters) What You’ll Do Receive and triage maintenance requests Schedule and dispatch technicians and vendors Communicate timely updates to residents Maintain accurate work order documentation (notes, photos, timelines) Monitor technician workloads and unit turn deadlines Partner with Property Managers to improve service efficiency Verify vendor performance and support invoice documentation Identify recurring issues and recommend process improvements Utilize property management systems (AppFolio preferred) What You Bring Experience in maintenance coordination, property management, or hands-on residential maintenance Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and appliances Strong organization and multitasking skills Clear, professional communication skills Comfort handling calls, emails, portals, and scheduling systems Detail-oriented with strong follow-through Preferred (Not Required) Property management or dispatch experience AppFolio, Yardi, or similar PM software Experience coordinating technicians or vendors Compensation & Growth $25–$30/hour (based on experience) Medical, dental, vision PTO paid holidays Career paths: Maintenance Manager, Operations Manager, Assistant PM Professional, accountable, growth-focused culture At Smartland, we build communities and invest in people.
